Riffy Cornbread - New Riff

Riffy Cornbread

New Riff - Riffy Cornbread – Old Fort Liquor Wine and Beer. #16-3455

Appearance:
Light mahogany with tiny legs.

Nose:
Black peppercorn and maple syrup that's long ago melts into country cornbread. Slight raspberry twang. Faint hints of pipe tobacco, vanilla, melon, grapefruit, and an astringent note I can't quite place... Yet... I'll be back. Ok. I'm back.. It’s parsley.

Body:
Awesome lush mouthfeel. Little bit of industrial adhesive with cantaloupe. There's an overarching light herbal note that transitions from noise to finish. Finish: Big "whoop" in the beginning that delivers big citrus rind and cascades to even bigger and bigger flavors before tapering into chalk and ash. It's a rollercoaster hump that takes more turns and twists than you ever expected. Literally too many to name. By the time you think, "oh, is that...?" You're on to the next flavor. You recognize a whole lot of them but they just go by so quick.

 Overall:
I can't believe that a 4 year old whiskey can deliver so much. It's interesting and pleasant and that's all I can ask for.
